Metal Roofing and wall systems represent one of the most effective ways to keep a building watertight while maintaining its capacity for air movement. Because of these qualities, metal roofing and wall systems are becoming increasingly popular in western Canada. We can assist clients with unique design criteria using custom cornice work and copper fabrications, among other techniques.
Standing seam metal roofing panels are made either of steel, copper, or zinc, and employ a hidden fastener that results in a continuous, site-formed panel from ridge to eave. We have established ourselves as one of the premiere installers of standing seam roofing in British Columbia, as one of the only RCABC companies to own an approved roll-forming machine. The color range, panel size, and attention to detail that we provide at Parker Johnston Industries Ltd. have made our work famous on the Island and the Lower Mainland. We have completed standing seam metal roofs for building owners such as BCBC, Capital Health Region and many others.
Parker Johnston Industries Ltd. employs full-time shop personnel who can assist with design and fabrication of a multitude of different sheet metal fabrications. Site installation and our workmanship guarantee provide you assurance of a top-quality product.
Custom and unique metals are our specialty – unique creations in copper, brass, zinc, and stainless steel, as well as creations in pre-painted steel design assistance and fabrication are readily available.
Our CNC and specialty European forming equipment ensure that if you can dream it, we can build it out of metal. We can build cornice work and highly complex metal fabrications, such as custom wall vents, saddle flashings and welded sill pans, or standard production runs of metal through wall flashings.
Fiberglass laminate shingles are quickly becoming the most popular shingle in the residential and light commercial roofing market. Their solid construction of non-woven fiberglass reinforcement and asphalt combined with their textured and sometimes shadowed appearance enhance any home, producing a custom-built appearance. The protective coating of granules comes in many custom colours to either imitate the look of classic shake or slate roofing, or to create a new custom look. Pricing of these shingles is only slightly greater than an interlocking shingle; however, laminate shingles must be installed over solid decking, and this eliminates the possibility of roofing over existing shingle roofs.
